"Jamming"
Okay ... at the risk of "dating" myself a bit ... (LOL, do they even still call it jamming?) What is the most effective way to locate other acoustic guitarists who are interested in just getting together and "jamming" informally?
Right now, I'm getting really tired of playing by myself and honestly, my wife and daughter are beginning to roll their eyes when I drag them up stairs with a plea that they "Take just a minute to listen to this ... "
So, how is the best way to connect with other people like me ??

Haha I can't find anyone to play with either! And yes, they do still call it "jamming". Try www.guitarwar.com. I think it's like $5 a month or something to be a member, but it looked like it could be fun. Or ask around at a local music store.

Okay ... almost exactly a year later, thanks to the local Meetup.com guitar group for this area, I have connected with dozens of people to "jam" with. Been doing open mics for several months now. Problem solved. :-)

Anyone here from Auburn, Alabama? I'm looking for a group of players, preferably beginner types who just want to learn and have fun. I built a deck out back that is perfect for hanging out and playing, with built in benches and plenty of space. Still unused, unfortunately.
What has happened in the U.S.A.? So many people are into themselves so much that they lock themselves away from the old-time type socializing. Seems to me like it's "close the door, draw the shade, play a video game, if you can't get laid!"
Sorry about the negative social comment, but where are the friendships we used to easily develop?
BTW, I've been trying to alert members to a guitar I have on eBay. Very nice one that you can get for a low price.
