This last year I've really gotten into John Fahey's music, and have picked up many of his albums. I'm sure there are plenty of fans on this website, so I was hoping somebody could shed some light on his guitars/technique. It's odd how it's easier to find discussions of his philosophical treatises than his playing.
I've found a short article from Acoustic Guitar magazine about a small-bodied Gibson that was smashed and rebuilt, but that's it. Youtube videos show a couple different flat tops, none with any electronics, and that he played steel guitar Hawaiian style.
Can anybody shed some light on this gentleman for me?
