Besides string noise question: Had question about why different companies light gage seem to pull more on neck. Relief is more or less on different sets of same gauge strings
Kim - good question. Some companies use different gauges and label them "light." If all things are constant gauge wise - then I'd assume that the variances in tension and relief on the neck are attributed to the different winding methods. What are you seeing with our strings?
Your strings seem to be very consistent with tension, not changing relief. Elixers seem to have less tension. DR's seem to have more tension. How many companies have their strings made by others. Thanks for taking time to reply

Love the sound of new coated acoustic strings. Sound brighter than Elixers. They do however make much more noise . Is there any way to quiet them down for fingerstyle. Do not notice stumming.
A humidity thing?
No it was inside. Guitar is into Phil Jones super cub and then into sound system. Sounded great but was lots of string noise on fingerstyle songs. Guess could wash hands and soften calluses before playing
How is that Super Cub?? I have 2 Cub 100s and a few other amps.
Guess no one is on... later...
Super cub is great. Top speakers help as monitors. Six five inche total. One channel is voiced for electric. I played concert Saturday night. Mostly acoustic but used Tele on two songs. Ran it into one channel with pedalboard and had plenty of volume and decent sound. Not as good as tube amp but made rig much easier to cary.
Cool thanks. I might have to find one to try AND some of these strings.
I have 3 CA (Carbon Fiber) guitar with a 4th ordered and always trying new strings.
