Worth trying these new strings. Will brighten up sound unpluged for certain.

Kim
Kim,

Our Coateds we're designed to replicate the feel and sound of uncoated's, and our coating process is strictly on the wrap wire so you won't hear much of a difference in string noise on ours compared to an uncoated set. Kind of a trade off. We wanted our sets tonally to sound as vibrant and fresh as possible.
They are the first set of stings that actually sounded better on my Taylor 514 than Elixers. Have not tried them on my Tele yet.
Great! The Titanium Electrics are a favorite of Brad Paisley's for his teles....He likes the tone since some teles can be very bright sounding instruments.
The Strings do not make any more noise than a normal set would...
The Ernie Ball Coated Slinkys feel and sound as close to uncoated strings as possible. The wrap wire is still exposed and not entirely wrapped which helps to produce a brighter more vibrant sound, but still expose some of the finger noise you get when fretting chords ect.
Why can't I find any acoustic guitar strings that have an unwound G ? It would make life easier for us string benders. I can't be the only one who buys extra single strings, and has a lot of acoustic wound G's going to waste.

We do make a set with a Unwound G string....The Earthwood Rock N Blues set....Ideal for Slide players who like an un-wound G gauge .17 Product number is #2008 and can be ordered from your local shop or on our website

Hey folks, if you have a question for Brian Ball, please post them here in this thread or in the live Chat area, accessible by clicking the bar that reads "Acoustic Guitar Community/25 Online" at the bottom of your screen.
Brian the only question I really have for you is to convince me why I should switch over to Earnie Ball strings. To be honest I had tried in the past and I mean past and had never really enjoyed the sound I was getting.
I am presently using Dean Markley's XL .010-.048's, D'Addario's EJ16-3D L .012--.053, and Marin 80/20 Bronze Extra Lights .010-.047.
So what can you tell me about your strings to want to make me give them another shot and will they give me the same sound I am getting now, which is extremley important to me as I do record and would be playing over some older tracks that I am presently remixing and wouldn't want to change the sound up.Ship
We have the new Coated strings with the Titanium RPS winding that has gotten great reviews. We make those strings in 80/20 and Phosphor.....They have a very pronounced sound while retaining natural clarity.
Not sure what guitar you are playing but everyone has different tastes...perhaps you will find something you like about our new products.....Let us know your feedback if you get a chance to try the new coateds...Some of the feedback from touring artists has been centered around the tuning stability the Titanium provides, strings do not slip off the posts as much and string up to pitch faster. Feel like a natural strings with plenty of bite!
Brian
Does cutting the ends off the string before tuning them to pitch really hurt the string?
not in my opinion! I like to cut a string to length first and make sure you have 3-4 wraps with a nice even wind around the post...
Strings stay in tune better and do not slip as much...The Core is steel and should hold up under many pounds of tension. We have never had a problem with cutting the strings length first, or encountering any premature breakage where this is concerned.
