Here are my babies:
the darker one is a 1979 Guild D25M
the light one is my 1956 Martin 0-18

I am a beginner player-been playing less than a year but I can't wait to really make these babies sing! The Guild was my first purchase, then a few months later I had the opportunity to buy this Martin and I'm so happy that I did :-) It fits my body so much better than the big dread but sounds amazing!

I hope you all enjoy the photos....

Is that a Warwick Bass hanging on the wall, nice collection of acoustics, can you let us know what they are.Ship

It's actually an old Washburn bass. The A/E bass is a Brownsville. The red electric is an 80's Charvel Model 4 that has been custom wired with 1 Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker, 1 Duncan Lil '59 mini-humbucker, and one Duncan Cool Rails mini-hb. The blue electric is a Double Fat Tele with carved top and neck-thru design. A really nice out-of-production guitar. The acoustics are an Alvarez 12-string, Wechter Pathmaker, and a Schecter Diamond series. And the keyboard is an older Kawai MP9000, another great out-of-production instrument that is still one of the best.

I'm happily married and the father of three. The trick is to marry a girl with a crazy hobby like keeping horses (my bride of 18 years is a horse nut.....you can't outspend a horse nut). Seriously...I'm in my mid 40's and I've played since I was 11. I don't drink or smoke....I just buy a guitar every couple of years. Music is one of the great hobbies that you can take through your whole life and my wife understands. If I'm looking at a guitar every couple of years and she kids me that I have enough.....I remind her that I could discover sports cars or monster trucks.

My favorites are the Larrivee L03R, Martin OM16GT, Fender Nashville Tele and the Gibson Melody Maker. I played a Tele for four years of Highschool Jazz Band. Tele's are close to my heart.

Fantastic collection! I am trying to get my hands on that many, but once I started building, I swore I would never buy anything I could build, so it might take me longer. My wife, for awhile, was collecting longaberger baskets. She'd ask me what I needed another guitar for, and I would just reach out and pick up a basket.....that would be the end of that discussion for at least 6 months. it coulda been cars or trains for me, but this is far more rewarding for a number of reasons. The obvious musical side the whole family enjoys. There is the building side, which I love as much if not more, and the creative experimental side. I will be getting a bunch of pecan wood after christmas. I have never seen a pecan wood guitar, but some luthiers I know saw no reason it couldn't be used. A friend had a pecan tree knocked down a few years ago, and had the wood cut up, some quartered quite well, and has been stored for 4 years. Apparently its beautiful wood, and the tree had a lot of sentimental family value. They wanted to do something special with it, like furniture, jewlery boxes and such. He saw my website, and immediately called me to discuss the possiblities. I am going to build 4-5 guitars out of one chunk of wood sample he is sending me, and he couldn't be more excited. thats also part of the fun, and my wife is even excited about that, she thinks its a great idea. next she'll ask me to make a basket out of rosewood.....

I have a great deal of respect for anyone who has the skill and calm enough head to build a guitar. I built a Telecaster kit about two years ago and it was a humbling thing and the end guitar was less than I had hoped. I sold the Tele on ebay and nearly broke even.

I have looked at the Stewmack mando kit and it looks like something that I might be able to build. Maybe someday. For now I'll stick with building birdhouses and doll beds!

Pecan sounds interesting. My inlaws have some black walnut trees on their farm. I have seen black walnut Larrivees and the backs were so very beautiful.

Post some pics when you build that guitar.
