Hey Guys,
So I did buy a floor stand for my guitar but it is just not working out. It is always in the way of either the wife, kids, dog or my dresser drawers. I want to purchase a wall hanger like this one:
For anyone using wall hangers, do I need something on the wall behind the main body of the guitar to keep it off the wall or does the hanger keep it off the wall. I want to keep the guitar out in the open and not in the case to remind me to practice.
Thanks,
Les

I'm entertaining one for the same reasons....to be reminded to play more, and more often.
Check out my "Guitar Hangers?" discussion on the Seagull group site. Some great suggestions. I'm not getting one for a few more weeks because I'm away from home, so let me know if you get one that works out.

Ha, Les, reminders are not my problem. First, I don't need the reminder, but other folks in the house need reminding that I need time to play guitar. .Just so much goes on with the day-to-day routine, it gets hard to make time to play. Now, as far as the wall hanger goes, it wouldn't work for me either. Our cats are too frisky and bouce off the walls, so I'd never feel safe putting one of mine at the mercy of them. I do use a floor stand occassionally, but only when it's within my grasp, all other times my guitars are in their cases. Another reason I would not use a wall hanger - our house is an old style house built in the 1930's, and there's hardly any insulation between the outside wall and the inside wall, beyond a few old beer cans and bottles left by the 'crew'. The walls get really cold during the winter, and hot during the summer. I'd be afraid of the impact to my guitars.
Still, if it works for you - great! I'd love to use one to just look at my guitars, as I love them as pieces of art as much as instruments.

It's a wall hanger for me.
