Just a reminder to all the group members. The Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair is ongoing today and tomorrow (7/3 and 7/4) in Ripley, WV. Along with lots of great handmade crafts and demonstrations, they have small stages set up throughout the grounds with many artists performing old-timey Appalachian music. Very enjoyable. More info can be found at www.msacf.com.

Hello there mountain folks or wanna be's:

Well....since Trish and I both were born and still reside here in West...by god....Virginia......thought we'd better join this group and see what our in-state and other Appalachian musicians are in to etc. You'all be good and come see us on our page. We are just amateur singer (not me..just Trish on the singing) /songwriters and we don't try to take ourselves to serious.....just having some fun since my retirement a couple years ago. I am also trying to get more proficient at home recording and belong to that group also. We'll be putting a few more of our songs on our page for comments, advice, criticism...whatever...we don't care. Anything/anyone that can help us be better as musicians is welcomed!!!!!!!

Jeff,

I wanted to let you know about the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair, held around the 4th of July every year in Ripley, WV. This is an event where various artisans sell their hand-made goods. The grounds are set up with large tents and it is a really laid-back atmosphere. They have several small areas set up around the grounds where different artists are set up and play acoustic, mountain-type music. Real sit-on-a-hay-bale-and-listen-to-live-music type of performances. Their website is www.msacf.com.

Hi there, I live in Ashland, KY, on the "Country Music Highway" (US Rt. 23). It is amazing how many talented musicians come from this area and the Appalachian Mountain area. Hope to communicate with you guys again soon.

Terry .. yeah thats cool .. its Appalachia and "surrounding area's."
There are so many great musicians in the mid east.
I really wanted to create a group so that we could rally together and list different venue's , festivals and events .. one event i'd like to attend it Lake Eden Art Festival aka L.E.A.F. ..
I'm really interested to know more luthiers in the mid east too ..
I'd like to pick guitar building up as a hobby ..
Looking forward to your input ..
WELCOME to the group .
