Just joined the board and this group. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and bass for 18. Sad thing is I still stink at both! For about 10 years I didn't touch a guitar and just focused on bass. Then 10 years ago next month I picked up my Seagull Grand parlor guitar. She made me start playing and practicing back like I was back in high school. While I still identify as a bass player primarily, my little Grand made me fall back in love with playing acoustic guitar. I've since owned a few other acoustics but none of them have felt like home.
Unfortunately for the past year I haven't had a chance to play due to a serious medical issue in the family which has finally been resolved. A month ago I finally broke out the Grand, cleaned her up, restrung her with some Silk & Steels, and have been playing the heck out of her again. It's just the thing I've needed after an incredibly stressful year.
As you can see in the pic I've posted she's been through a lot over the last 10 years. Lots of rehearsals, shows, vacations, business trips, and so forth. I'm starting to look for a replacement so she can retire and stay at home.
Looking forward to getting to know you folks and having some good old fashioned geeky gear chat!

By the way, I know where you can get a fine Simon & Patrick cedar top parlor for... what's that? Oh, yeah, ok. Sorry, the guys say it's too soon. Anyway, welcome to our hangout Cap'n.
p.s. your towel nearly fried my monitor. whoa...
Welcome to the Flock!
