This line of guitar has probably been available for about 6 months now. Do many members have one? Have you had any access to this guitar in your local shops. I have the cedar full dread with wild cherry laminate back and sides B Band electronics and I am so impressed with this guitar. The difference in sound from my full dread Maritime is incredible and gives me so many interesting options when learning a new song or just messing around with chords between the 2 guitars. When I change picks there is a whole new world of tones as well. I have played a few spruce tops and they are amazing as well. IMHO this is a great addition to the Seagull line and an example of ethical use of materials.

Your basic tone wood combination is the same as the S-6, but with B-Band rather that Quantum I electronics.
Permalink Reply by Gary Ellis on August 7, 2012 at 2:55pm Yes. I had a S6 with QI but I found the cedar too delicate and susceptible to damage so I sold it (mistake). I ended up missing the cedar sound and got the NE cedar as soon as it came out. There is not a lot of difference and the S6 is a great guitar.

Permalink Reply by FloridaGull on August 8, 2012 at 9:47am I haven't seen one either - and, when I asked the "sleeping clerk" if they were going to get any in (this was back when I was checking out the Artist Folk for Tom Laing - so a few months ago), he didn't know such a thing existed... :-(
They have wood bindings and rosette, too - right? I think that is very nice - the Artist's should be wood-bound, too, IMHO...and the Maritime SWS...
