Permalink Reply by MichiganGull (Dave) on July 8, 2012 at 3:08pm I have had good success with the G7th capo. Simply squeeze to install and take off quickly with a simple pull on the lever.A bit pricey, but really well made. Works well on both my S6 and S12.
Permalink Reply by Paul Walters on July 8, 2012 at 5:44pm I have both the Kyser and the G7th capos. I do find that the G7th is quite a bit easier to remove than the Kyser - the spring force is much less on the G7th. The one drawback with the G7th. is that it does not clip onto the end of my guitar headstocks as securely as the Kyser capo.
This is true about the G7 falling off, so, what I do is clip it on the low E string side of the headstock so it will rest there and not fall off.
Permalink Reply by tom blegen on July 8, 2012 at 7:33pm The Kyser is certainly convenient but it doesn't work equally well on all my guitars, on some it messes up the tuning. My favorite is the Shubb, but it's not the quickest change nor can I clip it to my headstock...
Permalink Reply by Jud Hair on July 9, 2012 at 5:48am I agree ... the Kyser's main advantage is quick on-and-off and ability to clamp on the headstock for storage. Shubb (and others) are much more precise.
Permalink Reply by Pat Kelecy on July 9, 2012 at 6:56pm G7th makes a number of different capos. A G7th Performance capo just sold on AGF, and I asked the seller about it (after it had sold) as I'm in the market for one. He said he would not recommend it, but prefers the G7th Newport now. He says it holds tune better, easier to use, and much lighter.

The Planet Waves NS is also popular (and half the price).
Permalink Reply by Craig MC on July 19, 2012 at 7:15pm I have a Planet Waves NS, nicely designed, but not blazing fast to use and can't just clip to stock. I just saw Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings perform here in Buffalo. They use capos on nearly every tune, and all over the neck, so are constantly changing them. They use Kysers, I have read (in AGM). In fact, Gillian lamented the recent breaking of one of their favorites.
They were, incidentally, fantastic. One of the best shows I've ever seen. see them if you get the opportunity.
