Hi Craig.  I would definitely get the electronics.  I have had my S12 since November and it sounds great through my amp.  Not that much difference in price, and it is sure nice to have if you need amplified.  Also, the tuner is a great thing to have on a 12 string.  Mine stays in tune really good, but when you capo it, the large e and a string goes a little sharp, and with the tuner you can tune it in a jiffy.

Want to see ALL the discussion topics that we "Gulls have pondered since the group began back in July 2011 ??  If so, click here List of All Past Seagull Discussion Topics ... feel free to respond to an old topic to bring it back up again.  Most of what we talked about is still relevant.  It just got pushed way down the list.

We talk about anything acoustic guitar-related here ... if it's about Seagull/Godin, great, but it doesn't absolutely have to be that specific.

I have bought three guitars from Reid's who are a small locally owned company. They always match the prices of the local Long and McQuade chain store and any online price in Canada (in stock items). I have bought items that they did not have in stock elsewhere but like to give the little guy a shot at my business if they are competitive. They have an S12 due in to their store soon but not with electronics. Thanks for your help Michael and Jud.

my apologies...I read the wrong ebay guitar. I did get my amp from Beatstreet, and I thought them a breeze to deal with.

Lowest Ebay Price that I found for the Coastline I can find on Ebay

Craig ... If you know you'll be wanting to plug in frequently, definitely get a pickup.  The $115-$135 up charge for the built-in QI is a pretty good investment IHMO unless you are the type who can install an under-saddle pickup yourself.  I can't remember ... did you install the Matrix on the Maritime yourself?

my S12 is a week old, and I'm Lovin' it!! I bought a Kustom Sienna 30w amp to go with it, and I'm havin' a blast! In fact the local store has a Maritime M12 gloss that is new, but 3 yrs old and I may get that one too(under $400 for non-electric).

Craig:have you looked on Ebay for the guitar? Some S12 QI for $499 w/free shipping and 30 returns...

It's official, my next guitar will be a Seagull Coastline S12. I am eagerly awaiting its arrival at my local music store. My only question is should I purchase one with or without QI electronics. $440 without electronics and $575 (POSSIBLY $556.88) with electronics.I do currently play my Seagull Maritime SWS through an amp but had a Matrix Infinity pickup installed after the fact. What is your opinion on the with or without electronics???

My local store usually matches online prices in Canada and Axemusic has the following pricing (Price Quote) listed.
