@ John ... I'm in it purely for the fun of it.  That is the first time I've even tried to get any sort of performance on record.

@ Walt ... yep.  My son "capture"d me at open-mic a couple of weeks ago on his smart phone ... here :

I've been away for 3 weeks.  Did you post a song, Jud?

Comment by John Culver on May 14, 2012 at 6:14pm

@Jud...incidentally...when I supply a demo to the places I play....I just sit in front of a mic or camera and let it roll!...I then let the owner know ..."THIS is what you get.  No complaints so far, and I'm booked at least once a week till October.

@Jud....some may refer to the sound quality as weak...but I prefer to think of it as "real"....I use an Acer netbook...the speakers aren't anything special...but you sounded great to me....you should post more!

Why thanks John! ... my son did that on his smart phone a couple of weeks ago.  Lotta typical coffee house chatter and the sound quality is somewhat weak as a result, but it's the best I got, :-)  Apparently the better speakers a listener's computer has, the better I sound, LOL.  I'll try to get a more sophisticated video done at some point down the road.

I don't own a Taylor - I just joined to post some pics and comment on your 12-string purchase - I can UN-join them, if that would help... ;-)

Through circumstance (involving lefty guitars I had, and righty guitars I needed to trade them for), I ended up with a Seagull Performer and a Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin II - both with cutaways. My first guitar (a Penco dread) did not have a cutaway, however - nor did my 80's Aria LW-15. My next guitar will be a cedar-topped 6-string (steel) - no electronics - no cutaway.
At least my classicals are "whole"...and the Craviola just is the way it is... ;-)

Hey!  We're #2 ... We're #2!!  Last night (at 180) we passed Taylor to take over 2nd place among AGM groups dedicated to a specific brand.  Of course, that's a pretty narrow lead.  Could change anytime, so I'm just going to go down to the cafe and get a large Latte' to celebrate this morning!  :-)

Comment by Jud Hair on May 14, 2012 at 5:49am

I agree on cutaways.  Hate'em!  Why would anyone intentionally cut away part of a beautiful acoustic guitar??  I own a cutaway acoustic, but I chose it in spite of the cutaway, not because of it ... ;-)
