Merry Christmas!!!
Do you play electric bass already and are picking up the acoustic, or are you just starting on the bass altogether? I know that when I got my first acoustic bass it was quite a change from playing the electric bass! I am pretty much an acoustic guitar player and I know that the difference between playing that an a solid body electric guitar was just as jolting! If you are just starting on the bass altogether, one suggestion is to go online and get the free bass tablature and then put on a CD of a group you really like and turn your bass tone control on the player off, then you can thump along with the song and learn that way. That;'s the way I started as I play totally by ear! Either way, you are in for some frustration but alot of fun! Check back here for more suggestions and hints from other players...I have found this group to be great!

P.S. what type of bass do you have...post dome pics, we just love this kind of "stuff!!!"
