Comment by Edward Sparks on September 26, 2011 at 7:04am Well, considering the humidity in Costa Rica I finally pulled the pin and bought a Epiphone electric bass. I'm still looking very interested in a Takamini acoustic/electric bass but I still have to deal with 70% to 99% humidity. Waaaa!!

Comment by GC on September 18, 2011 at 12:17pm Hi all! I originally started out as a guitarist in the mid 60's. A classmate who was a drummer, we started as a 2 piece band. After we got a real guitarist I switched to bass player.
I played in the group as rhythm and bass guitarist. I enjoy both but I am a guitarist at heart.
Here's a pic of my first bass and amp my dad bought for me in 1970 or 1971. Don't remember brand name of the bass & amp, but years down the road wish I still had it.
To current date I own a Dean Edge 4 string bass & Marshall MB30 bass amp as well as other electric guitars & amps.
Playing both bass and electric guitar is now only a hobby as I haven't played in a band since 1973.
