I'm considering a Kala U Bass for a travel bass.  I've watched several videos of this little bass in action and I'm very impressed with the sound for such a little body.  Has anybody got anythign to say about the cute little boomer.  Check it out on Youtube at the NAM show in Nashville.  Paul Simons bass player is accompanying a guy and they do Billie Jean (MJ) and this little bass is right there with the groove.  I love this thing.  I have to have one!

Don't have any pics of the bass but it's nothing special.  The $250 entry bass.  But I have to admit it is a very easy bass to play and what it lacks is yet to be determined.  It sounds great coming through my new Roland Cube 120XL.

Well, considering the humidity in Costa Rica I finally pulled the pin and bought a Epiphone electric bass.  I'm still looking very interested in a Takamini acoustic/electric bass but I still have to deal with 70% to 99% humidity.  Waaaa!!

 Hi all!  I originally started out as a guitarist in the mid 60's.  A classmate who was a drummer, we started as a 2 piece band.  After we got a real guitarist I switched to bass player.

I played in the group as rhythm and bass guitarist.  I enjoy both but I am a guitarist at heart.  

Here's a pic of my first bass and amp my dad bought for me in 1970 or 1971. Don't remember brand name of the bass & amp, but years down the road wish I still had it.

To current date I own a Dean Edge 4 string bass & Marshall MB30 bass amp as well as other electric guitars & amps.

Playing both bass and electric guitar is now only a hobby as I haven't played in a band since 1973.

Speaking of strings...I have been having an issue with my Breedlove ABJ25/CM4 fretless bass guitar.  The G string does not seem to cut through the mix as loud as the other three - both acoustically and amplified. Could it be the set-up or should I get a slightly heavier gauge string (currently D'Addario PB .045) Any suggestions?
