I haven't been there in quite a while but at that time you only had to register. I discovered that after repeatedly trying my info from this site. So I emailed them and was told you cannot use your old info and must register. Really? Doesn't make sense to me. PLUS if you transition to the new site ALL of you posts, blogs, pix, videos, etc do not! IE: you have to start all over again.

I'm no web expert but it seems to me that moving everything could be done at a price of course and perhaps they don't want to spend the $???

Meh.  I might be wrong, but it sure looked like they wanted me to pay to join.

If I am wrong than I still think they need to re-structure it, because I think other people will also get that impression and walk away before they even start.

There is a "beginner" group there, but I'm wondering  about starting a AN group there

Thanks Edward and let's not forget David Mitchell who is a co-chair.

You can find a link to the new site on the home page. Right smack in the middle it says "New Acoustic Guitar Website"
We'd like to invite all members of the Acoustic Guitar Community to come check out the brand-new website at AcousticGuitar.com. This is a completely redesigned home for Acoustic Guitar (and you!), full of great lessons, songs to play, guitar reviews, and more. You’ll see digital editions from the last two years of Acoustic Guitar magazine (available to…

Click and follow to the new site where you'll have to register because your UN & PW from this site won't work there.

Walt,

I wonder if they are ignoring this site in favor of the other "new" one that they want everyone to transition to? Could be, who knows? Okay we' lol take the com now Captain. :)

Thanks Walt for your years of slave labor with this group and for offering to help if and when needed!

To Terry Angelli and David Mitchell:

I still haven't forgotten about you. I've tried everything I know to do to get somebody's attention about the Administrator thing, to no avail. That includes writing to Dan Gabel, Editor/Publisher of AG, but I have been rewarded only with silence.

Nevertheless, I am going to go ahead, and I hereby do, anoint you both as the new Administrators. Congratulations!

Unfortunately, you won't be able to change the text at the top of the page, add a page, or "manage" the members. Which is just as well since it means there is no risk of any power going to your heads (not that anybody was worried about that) because there isn't any. If you do need to do any of that stuff, I'll still be around and you can just ask me to do it. [Believe me, Terry, if only I could even just find that wheel that turns so slowly I'd surrender the power. As it stands now the only way to do it is to leave the Group, which I don't want to do. ;)] Another possibility is for you guys to take up the challenge at which I've failed, i.e., getting someone's attention to fix this. Anyway . . .

SO . . .

To all 455 Acoustic Newb Group members, please meet and greet your new Group Administrators, Terry and David!

May they reign in good health and good music as long as they see fit to do so!

Ya, ya, you just don't want to surrender the power that comes with the position! ;)

No problem, the wheel sometimes turns slowly.

To Terry Angelli and David Mitchell:

I haven't forgotten about you. I've written to Dan Gabel, Editor/Publisher of AG, about how to set you up or if he can set it up from his end, but I have not heard back from him yet. Will let you know.
