Try the Kyser K-Lever Partial capos. You can go to four different tunings by just putting on a capo. Drop D, Double Drop D, DADGAD, and Open G. Add a 2nd straight capo and you can play in any key.

Here's the first real song I ever wrote in an alternate tuning. I only have two and both are written in DADF#AD. This ones called waterfall. Give it a listen!

Myles: The challenge with using alternate tunings on 12-string guitars is, if you go much more than a half step above standard tuning, your harmonic strings may likely break. As long as you're tuning down from standard you can use almost any combination of alternate tunings. Choose a tuning that starts with C on the lowest string and then tune the others downward as well, if possible.

that tuning I posted was DADFBD instead od DADFAD. Its a beautiful set up and has had me hooked for about a fortnight, haha.
