My case is hurting right now, the lock is broken, the zipper is broken and it's pretty dinged up but its holding in there. I wish it had a plastic shell instead of the cloth one I have. I Have been playing for three years now and It was rough on all of us, I had to practice away from everyone because they got tired of hearing me. Anyway what music do you play? I'm trying to get drifting down right now, I've almost got it then I need to fine tune the technique.

That's very cool Vince.  I imagine you must have an incredibly tough case for that thing!  I betchya there were many times on deployment when your comrades  sincerely appreciated some home-made music to listen to.

And hey.  Thank you for your service my friend!

Hey I realize that didn't mention here on the main board what I have. I have an Regent Dreadnought RD20U which I have designated as my drop D guitar. It has about as much depth as my Epiphone AJ-100 and it also sounds great! Now if I can manage to get an LR Baggs for this sweet axe (then all four of my acoustics will be plug in ready).

Hi everyone!  I just discovered this group today.  Since my number one  (And favorite) guitar is an Alvarez, I suppose I should join you !

By the way, did I mention that I love Alvarez guitars?  They just feel better in my hands.

I agree, if you like the guitar it was a good price to pay in my opinion. What type of strings did you go with? What style of music are you playing?

Cheers,
David

I know the AJ-60's were selling for $500+ before the summer of '09, when they were blowing out all the old models. I got mine for $299 that summer, as a blow out, and then got a price match for another $40 off.

I think all the Artist series models were originally selling in the $500 range. So to get it for $250 doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. The best part is, it's something you're enjoying, and you can't put a price tag on that.
