Good morning, everyone. I'm thinking about getting an Alvarez Baritone and I notice they now offer a model with pickups. Who else has an Alvarez acoustic electric and how are the electronics?Continue

Somebody close the window!!
Comment by John Culver on May 6, 2012 at 7:03pm ...theSeagull's a dreadnaught, and has a very nice warm sound in spite of the fact that it's a spruce top....the neck width is a little wider than the Alvarez...but it's a nice switch....

Comment by John Culver on May 6, 2012 at 6:55pm @David Susman...the AF410S pictured, in my opinion is a much better Artist series guitar than the ones offered now...better bracing, tone, and playability in my opinion. They don't make this one anymore, they replaced it with the AF60, which I bought in December, and have had no luck with. I replaced it with a Seagull Maritime SWS HG QI, much happier now!
Comment by Dave Fengler on May 2, 2012 at 8:50am I play my Seagull S6 99% of the time. There was a Seagull S12 on CraigsList a few weeks ago. I probably could have gotten it for $300 and sold the Alvarez for $100 later, but my wife would have killed me. A 12 string is nice to have but will never be my main guitar.
Comment by Dave Fengler on May 1, 2012 at 11:59am I got a RD20S12 on CraigsList for $60. It's in great shape but the action was so high it was unplayable. The truss rod was lose. Once I cranked on the truss rod, about 3/4 turn, the neck relief and action came back to spec. My guitar teacher was so impressed on how well it played he asked to adjust his Taylor!

I have an RD30C.(nothing significant about it)
