I have heard no complaints about the Seagulls, they seem like good instruments. I don't get to play as often as I should or even want to, but did get some nice strumming time in yesterday.

...theSeagull's a dreadnaught, and has a very nice warm sound in spite of the fact that it's a spruce top....the neck width is a little wider than the Alvarez...but it's a nice switch....

Here's a pic of the Seagull...

@David Susman...the AF410S pictured, in my opinion is a much better Artist series guitar than the ones offered now...better bracing, tone, and playability in my opinion.  They don't make this one anymore, they replaced it with the AF60, which I bought in December, and have had no luck with.  I replaced it with a Seagull Maritime SWS HG QI,  much happier now!

Nice guitar John. I was poking around the internet the other day and learned that Jerry Garcia played an Alvarez-Yairi during his sets with Dave Grisham. Those are some of my favourite recordings. Bluegrass and folk music. Garcia's guitar and Grisham's mandolin really shine.

I play my Seagull S6 99% of the time.  There was a Seagull S12 on CraigsList a few weeks ago.  I probably could have gotten it for $300 and sold the Alvarez for $100 later, but my wife would have killed me.  A 12 string is nice to have but will never be my main guitar.

I got a RD20S12 on CraigsList for $60.  It's in great shape but the action was so high it was unplayable.  The truss rod was lose.  Once I cranked on the truss rod, about 3/4 turn, the neck relief and action came back to spec.  My guitar teacher was so impressed on how well it played he asked to adjust his Taylor!

hello all, just having a look at all the comments,,i take it that k yairi uses its own name for the european market,,i have a yairi ym2 and after looking on the net i find it to be a rare one as a lot of the yairi guitars are.

She has a ceder top with ovengol back and sides a slimline neck and was made in 1999 the godd thing is that most of its life has been spent in its case so she is in mint condition and the music shop used it for some recording and then sold it to me she wasent cheep but worth every penny i had no idea that yairi have made so many different guitars i will have to play some different models as i think thay are well made ,,,thay are made in japan but old school,,,hide glue,,no cnc,,hand carved necks and braces have just got hold of a cool book very cool with bags of info on the history of yairi it ends in saying in his own words,,,k yairi works af art,,,,it waset hipe,,,,
