I'm selling my 2011 Taylor 654ce 12-string. Sitka spruce top, AA flamed maple back/sides. All solid wood. The AA flamed maple upgrade is incredible. The pictures don't really do justice to its beauty, but that's only half the story. She sounds amazing, as well. Everything Taylor says about this model's ability to cut through and be heard during live performances is true. Asking $2300. (original price more than $3000.) She really should be with someone who'll play her often. Arthritis in my hands has made that for me a bit of a challenge. :-( If you know anyone who's looking for an incredible 12-string let me know. I'm in Austin.

Howdy to all.  I'm posting in the hopes that someone can recommend a guitar repair shop to me here in Austin.  Up until now I've been repairing my own guitars but just bought an old Framus 12-string and want someone else to fix it up.  I'm going to have South Austin Guitar Repair take a look at it tomorrow but wanted to hear any suggestions y'all have.  Where do you take your guitars?

I would think it would be growing since the city has decided that we should be the capital of low volume live music. Several of the venues for live music have closed due to construction and other reasons. South Park Meadows is a giant area of stores as is the land around the Back Yard out on 71. Several musical landmarks downtown have dissappeared due to new buildings being built where they once stood. Police stand in the front doors of establishments on 6th Street with sound meters enforcing the decibel limits now in force since people started moving downtown to be near the action which resulted in the reduction of action.
Still a great place for live music but not sure how long that will remain true.

Gotta love Austin, hows the acoustic scene down there? I used to live there for a few years and am planning on moving back very soon.

In Austin now but born and raised down in Victoria. I started playing at 57 and that was last year. Took beginner and intermediate guitar classes at ACC and need to get back to lessons soon.

I'm about 1 1/2 hours south of Austin in Victoria...does that count? lol
Been a pro for about 17 years now, and have semi-retired from the music biz. I only play acoustic now and have been playing fingerstyle for the past year.
glad to be a part of this :)

howdy I am an amateur guitarist been playing for approx. 25-30 years i had a period of 10 years where I was dormant but picked it up again in approx. 2005 was surprised that I remembered as much as I did . I enjoy living in this city due to the vast amount of music venues that have local national and international acts my only problem is that I hardly get out anymore due to family responsibilties and the obscenely early hour I have to be at work.
