On the top of the page, there's some menus that will help you navigate the site

I just have to say... you know what the greatest challenge is to me? My cussed fingernails! I keep breaking them, cracking them, and sometimes they won't grow in nice and straight but instead grow downward in a claw shape that catches the string. What a pain! I have the tools: Nail polish/hardener, fiberglass nail wraps, super glue, ping pong balls, etc. I'm getting pretty good at maintaining my nails. I guess if I fail at playing classical guitar I can always get a job at a nail boutique. MIght come in handy because I've had to give up doing everything I used to do for a living (pouring cement, laying wood and tile floors, working in my garden, etc).

I have just recently started studying classical guitar techniques extensively. What a challenge it is, in a very great way.

Really nice comments in this group, and great information/examples (especially from DonnaZ). Exactly what one looks for, so, I think I'll hang my hat here for a while. Thanks.

Thanks for the opportunity. Though I've played guitar for 42 years, I just recently started focusing on classical and I love it. I have an old Empro (that I picked up in a lawn sale for $10 several years ago), a Ramirez (more of a crossover), and a Kenny Hill Hauser '37.

Hi Doug,

This is a friendly place, but it seems to be geared toward traditional classical (eg. review all the discussion topics). I think you will find what you are looking for in the Fingerstyle Group. I am also a member of Fingerstyle and there are many players that play nylon folk/blues, etc.

Is this a friendly zone for "crossover" nylon string calssical/folk/blues stylist? Any particular interesting crossover instruments in the stable?

Greetings from the greater Nashville area.Yes, there are classical guitarists and luthiers in and around Nashville. The fun part is finding studio musicians and other guitarists who are wonderful classical guitarists making a decent living playing other styles and yet play Fernando Sor, Tarrega, when no one is listening. This is a wonderful forum. I wonder if there are other secret classical guitarists wondering around Nashville's music row willing to join this marvelous group.
