Many paths to take here as well..The Ace Turner style of square-neck slide, laid down like a steel guitar, or the more conventional guitar slide of the other earlier greats. The instrument you choose is going to fit this basic choice..lap or regular. Hauling around a few different slides can help find your own sound..glass, metal, pottery, a knife blade, a socket all have different feel, tone, weight..and these things will influence how you play.

Just love that resonator sound, especially love Son House and Bukka White even though not very sophisticated they really meant it

Johnny Shines is a whole lotta slippin and slidin too. He plays a mean single bisquit...I think a National.

Good to hear the old guys still attracting new listeners! I don't think you can beat Blind Willie Johnson for slide though - makes the hair on my neck stand up.

Really getting in to Mississippi John Hurt and Rev. Gary Davis. Love play in in "D", "E and G: for slide and dropped D. Looking to get a resonator or lap steel to round out my playing.

Hello Magnus!
Nice to have one more blue swede on the forum.
Thanks for the tip about Robert Pete Williams. He sounds great.
I also have come to like the basic blues form like Williams.
Play on brother!

Anybody got info on Buddy Woods ? I found a compilation with a couple of tracks of his but have seen or heard nothing else. I thought he sounded a lot like Bukka White
