The iPhone App called Guitar Toolkit, I've had it for a couple of years now, not one to trumpet cellphone-technology, but its incredibly useful, I don't possess a guitar tuner anymore, wouldn't be without it.

I recently wrote a new song in DADGAD using these chord shapes.
000200

002200

550000

So simple, I wonder why I never used them in this combination before.

Is this the Planet Waves App called guitar Tools, as a search on the App Store website yields more than one "Guitar Tools"?

That sounds great. I'm looking for an iphone app that tells me the name of the chord once I've defined the tuning and the notes. I'll try it.

Hey there Hoosier Picker. I am of course. :)

I have an app for my iPhone called Guitar Tools. It has a chord library built in.  The cool thing about it is.  If you choose a non standard tuning in the chromatic tuner section (it has a digital tuner) you get the chords for that tuning in the library.  I don't know if I explained that well.  So it works like this.  If you need to know the chord form for Gm7 in the tuning of Double Drop D, you would choose Double Drop D in preferences to tune your guitar to DDD then go to the chord library section and look up Gm7 and it will show you the form. Way cool for an old guy who can't remember what tuning he's in.

Thanks. i'll try the elixir nanos and the Martin SPs.

Elixir light gauge Nano's are very nice. They last a long time and have very little finger noise. I like the Martin SP Lifespan coated strings too, but they are definitely a lot noisier than the Elixirs.

Elixers seem to do the trick for me. I switched from uncoated to coated a while back for that very reason.
