Fellow fingerpickers: We'll be mailing Vol 14 No 2 of Craig Dobbins' Acoustic Guitar Workshop soon. In this issue: "Pickie, Pickie, Pickie" (Jerry Reed), Thumbstyle Classics (with Paul Yandell's break to the Louvin Brothers' "River of Jordan"), "Living in the Hills" (new instrumental from Craig), and the hymn "There is a Fountain." Hey all. I'm going to be in Palm Springs Jan. and Feb. and was wondering if there are any shows I should be checking out. Can't seem to find a decent web sight that can help. Am willing to drive to L.A. , San Diego, etc.

Saw a couple guys several years ago in South Africa who made guitars out of box-shaped, one-gallon oil cans. It was what their customers could afford, and they sounded pretty good.
If oil cans work, so should a biscuit tin. Glue the top on with Superglue. Go for the exotic and say it's modeled after a bouzouki. Maybe call it a biscuiki.
Looking forward to seeing your YouTube.

I'm right out of cigar boxes so I wondered whether I could use a round biscuit tin to make something similar but theres a couple of problems
Firstly wont the string tension just pull the top straight off?
Secondly won't it look rather like a banjo!

Thanks Nadine! I had filmed this series for www.cigarboxnation.com . Thought the absurdity of cigar box fingerpickin' would give a few of you some chuckles.
