Hi All,

Robert thanks for the vote of confidence but I Wish on both counts.

Nadine,

I have some catalogue pics on my page and your guitar is very very similar to a Dix 5/95 I think the guitar you have is one but a little younger and they have added the moustache bridge but hey I'm probably wrong.

Hi Ginger... I get an error when I try your click me... ( I just read that sentence I just typed... what would my college English prof say about that? Thank God for old Framus guitars to balance things out.)

Yeah I was born addicted to guitars I think... from the time I was six or seven years old I've had one around me...

Hi Nadine, there are a few ways to tell if its solid top or ply but sometimes you csn follow the grain around the soundhole... you can sometimes see it goes all the through or is broken up by some crossgrain... that said, there is nothing wrong with a well made ply top. I agree I'd leave it alone if all it needs is a decent set up...

Thanks for your help Robert. I am new to guitar collecting. Guitars aren't just a hobby anymore, the older I get, it turns out to be an addiction. I am sure you feel my pain there!

Yeah it had the bolt on neck. Oh great thats what I guessed it to be around, and glad it will be worth my money to set it up. The only flaw is a cosmetic crack on the headstock. The body is great and the finish is in pretty good shape for the age. I did some research and it did say it had a spruce top, although it felt more like a select. It is hard with the sunburst to tell.

I'd say it's worth (in my opinion, and I've bought a lot of guitars) at least $200.00 depending on potential cracks etc. I paid $45.00 for my Framus Ideal classical and ignored it for years before replacing the bridge, tuners and putting a new finish on it... I wouldn't sell it for $500.00 the way this guitar sounds... it was built right. I'd keep it!
