Welcome to the Acoustic Guitar Community.

Hi Folks - As a new SJ200 owner, I'm keen to hear from any fellow owners as to their string choices. Mine came set up with Elixir 11 - 52. These strings don't seem to give me the brightness I'm seeking. Any comments would be good??? I live in a pretty humid part of the world so string life is relatively short here.

Hi Ken try Martin Phosphor Bronze light the first string is a.012----.054.I like those and I also like the Martin FX light/med Phosphor Bronze thet start with a .0125 it's slightly thicker but the sound and the life of those strings I think you'll love.I put them on my D 35 and it's amazing what a differance a string type can do.
Many Thanks Michael - I'll give them a crack. Cheers.
Hi Ken, like Michael, I use Martin strings on my L-00. I use the SP version, light gauge with 12-54, and I live in the Northland of New Zealand - also humid at times. Seem to get pretty good life, brightness and feel out of them and since changing from D'Addario, I would not use anything else, at the moment anyway.

Cheers, Ian
Thanks so much for replying Ian. I've been playing my little Martin 000 for so long now with 10 - 52's that adjusting to the bigger bodied Jumbo and "heavier" gauged strings is an interesting experience especially as the fingers don't seem as young and pliable as they once were. I've been using D'Addario phos bronze for so long now that I guess I just got into a pattern and didn't experiment enough. These forums are great as there's so much experience to tap into. Nice to hear from the neighbours". Many thanks - I appreciate your feedback.
Just got my new SJ200 today and I've bought a set of Elixir PB Nano Mediums to put on it. I am planning on tuning it 1/2 to one full step low.

Hi Doug

Let me know how you go:)

Cheers

Ken
