Hello Chuck, and welcome! I'm sorry that I'm just now getting around to this, but I've been laid up, for a littlw spell. I just had Carpel Tunnel on my right hand/wrist, last Monday, Feb. 8th, and on March 8th, I'm having my left hand/wrist done. Just as the release date of my new CD was upon me, my right hand(picking hand) started going totally numb, before I could even get through an entire song. When flatpicking, the pick would just fall out of my hand, and I wouldn't know it. Then about a week or so later, my fretting/chording hand started the same thing, just not quite as bad. I've had to cancel every place I had lined up to play, until sometime in April. I got the stitches out of the right hand and wrist, this past Monday, and my doctor said I could start practicing again, very slowly and gently, until I get the other one done in Maech.
I've also been diagnosed with Raynaud's Disease, which is a disease that greatly restricts or stops the bloodflow to the fingers. My fingers swell, turn very red to blue, to purple, with very white areas mixed in, and they also hurt like crazy, at times, especially when anything cold touches them. There's no cure for this.
Then, the most recent diagnosis, which was about on the Tuesday after Christmas, I think, was an autoimmune disease I can't spell, but it causes the white blood cells to get inflammed, causing large patches of hair to fall out, which is what happened to me, Christmas Eve. I've had to totally shave my head, as a result. There's no cure for this either, but they can usually control it with cortisteroids. The Dermatologist put 10 shots(10 injections) into my scalp, this past Monday, so hopefully I won't be a bald headed Gospel Troubadour.
I'mm sorry to dump all my stuff on you as soon as you join, but I figured that most of the group would read it, and since I was going to ask for prayers anyway, I'd just kill two birds with one stone. So I ask everybody who reads this to please pray for my health. It could be so much worse, I know, and I know its only by the grace of God that it isn't, and I thank Him and praise Him for that!!
He'll get me through this! You see, I am going to move into fulltime traveling music ministry/evangelism, between now and June(probably June) and the devil don't want me to.
Take care Chuck, and God bless you!!!

Jerry

Hello dear friends. I just joined the group. I have played with the guitar for almost 35 years, but only got a bit more serious when invited to join our worship team soon after giving our life to the Lord. We play a variety from hymns to contemporary. Since I'm new to my faith, all of the music is new to me. I look forward to learning from all of you and sharing this incredible new joy!

Merry Christmas everyone. May God bless you in the coming year, and may He prosper all your musical endeavors. I'm getting a head start on goal setting for 2010, so ... anyone in Gospel guitar interested in doing a cowrite? I have several lyrics looking for music and/or can put your lyrics to music. I know this is not the Songwriting group but I am looking to write christian folk/gospel/worship songs.

Hello my friends,

Sorry, I've been off for a while.Between Hospice minstry and a bad case of shingles (not the roofing kind) I haven't been as faithful to the group as I'd like to be. Had a wonderful Christmas Eve service and had the privilage of being with a few families that did lose and are about to lose loved ones at our Hospice House. It never ceases to amaze me at how the ones who know the Lord can deal with that transition we call death and the ones who don't mourn so bitterly and die with such trepidation.

Fear not, we have been given good tidings of great joy! Jesus is born in Bethlehem... hallelujah! Merry Christmas to all!!!

I hope and pray that everyone's Christmas services have been as great a blessing as mine have been. Sharing for the Lord.

I have to say that this has been the most Christ-conscious Christmas in recent memory... due in part to having this marvelous group with which to share. The deepest blessings of His grace to you all
