The LM26 is the predecessor to LN-26. Same specification except for the dot markers position and the tuners.

The LM-26 was marketed in Europe, especially UK, as the "Levin goliath", and the levin LS-18 was the "Super Goliath". Depending on condition I would guess the LM-26 sells for 300-900 USD on Ebay. My experience is that they sell for higher prices in the UK than anywhere else.

Thanks Ted,
I'd forgottten about this site.
I had looked at this site last year or so. I can confirm its a 174 and the serial number is 1973. There is no model number on the guitar itself and the serial number is just stuck on "the special sound" paper label. We didn't get the Goya version of these instruments in the UK as they were I think for the U.S.A. market only. Its a shame they were dropped after the Martin take over. I would like to know if you can get replacement bridge saddles preferably in bone, but they are such an uinusual design I doubt it. It was one of the reasons I bought it as against the yahama F310 which was similarly priced.

Also it appears to have been manufactured between 1972 and 1973.

Check this out John. See if this is the model you own. So...let me calculate this as about 215 dollars.

Hi, I bought my Levin Goliath new In Exeter England in 1974. Its a little battered now but still plays great. Hugh Manson's shop refretted it and fitted a Fishman pickup.but all else is new. The G on 6th string tends to overpower meters on recording but not noticeable when playing normally. Although nothing written on it as a model number it might be 174? serial number is 523253 It cost £89.00- one of my better investments
