Ted - I haven't played the Gemini but I have played other Fenders and found them all very easy to play and well built with very thin finishes (a good thing). When I used to work part time in a music store, I would often recommend the Fenders to beginning students (don't recall the model, but they had the classic Fender headstock shape). Their necks are just like necks on a Strat, Mustang, Duo-Sonic, etc. so you can get the action low - they feel just like their electric models.

A few years ago I bought a Fender DG22SCE (cutaway electric acoustic). It's body is bubbinga (aka, African koa). The top is spruce; electrics are by Fishman. For around $300 this is a great guitar. When I was gigging, I would often take this one when we played parks, etc., where I was worried about a more expensive guitar being injured. Sounds really good - especially when coupled with a decent pre-amp through a PA system.

Also added a Fender 1980's Gemini II to the collection after reading a good many positive stuff about it. It hasn't arrived yet (neither has the Boston). Any experience with this model from anyone? The only other Fender I ever had was a leetle thing I used as a travel guitar until I got my little Crafter.

Oh..just another note. My favorite guitar of late (and I try to deny it what with the Guilds and EKOs and Frami and Goyas and others around) is an old DM-3 from Sigma. Rode hard and put away wet. Every time I walk into the "guitar room" I pick it up first. It gives me more music then the others. Anyone else have a guitar like that? A two way street sort of thing?

By the way...as you know I have a sh*tload of guitars. Some worth playing. Some worth looking at. Has anyone ever heard of a "Boston" guitar? I have had some luck researching in that they seem to be available in England.

Hello All..sorry to have been relatively AWOL but getting sick was sickening. Back to a large degree. I have a question. I just picked up a Sigma/Picador 6 string. Picador being the paper label they slapped on the inside of the guitar when something wasn't perfect. In this case I believe it has to do with the top. Nothing structural just cosmetic. I am trying to figure out how old the thing is. The interior x bracing seems to have some fabric at the cross joint. In addition the tuners are open and individual. Any ideas??

Only $8 grand...where's my checkbook?!??!?!  The prices on the "old stuff" is going to just go up and up as the fine tonewoods get more and more scarce...Glad I got what I got when I did! Edward
