Wow! Just found you all! I have a mahogany baby Taylor that I just strung Nashville style and it is perfect for this use! The higher pitches don't need the full size body to sound good. I made no modification to it at all... Not even the nut slots and I have no issues or buzzing, can't wait to use it on my recordings! They say that Sometimes a new instrument inspires a new song, and that is working for me with this! I already have a few ideas for it! I remember reading that the first use of a Nashville tuned guitar in a "pop" recording was on the Rolling Stones song "Wild Horses." This is not the foray tone I have strung one of my guitars this way...I have an old 1978 ovation guitar that I strung Nashville style years ago and it was great too! Glad to be here and looking forward to discussions!

Ian Tamblyn's high-strung guitar playing starts about 3:20.

I believe David Gilmour of Pink Floyd used Nashville Tuning when he recorded "Hey You"...

Yamaha High Strung - Maggie's first guitar in Instruments by

Yamaha High Strung - My wife, Maggie's first guitar.  I didn't modify the nut and it still works fine.  Since there is less tension than with a regular set of strings, you could likely brace a high-strung guitar far lighter than a regular guitar.  I did some recording at Grant Avenue Studios in Hamilton and they had a small bodied Gibson set up as a high-strung.
