That is the Radius attached via the putty that came with it. I just couldn't figure out how to mount it inside, especially since I wanted to try various placements to optimize the sound. Right below the bridge seemed to work best. Even with the oval sound hole, internal placement might be difficult. Plus on mine, the tailpiece is cast and I was afraid to drill a hole in it to really complete an internal installation. You mention painted black - mine was black from the start.

Good luck with it. It is pretty sweet sounding.

Ed- Is that your mando in the picture? Did you put that Baggs Radius on? I just got a new Kelly oval hole and a Raduis but was going to put it inside for cosmetic porpuses, but that looks pretty sweet painted black

Ed: Click the Camera icon in the toolbar above where you enter a comment. First be sure to have the cursor where you want the picture to appear. From there select browse, find the image on your computer you want to display the click the Add button.

The text "code" is normal and will be as such until you click the Add Comment button. Just learn to work around the code that is inserted.

I wish work wouldn't get in the way of the fun stuff! Here's a picture of my new mandolin. Well, everytime I try to link to a picture, it just inserts a bunch of text code in the box. Anyone know how to get a picture to attach? I have pictures on My Page but can't get them here.

Can't wait to see the pics! I have my eye on a Morgan Monroe octave F style with an oval soundhole! Edward

I just received a Morgan Monroe MFM-300 all mahogany F-style mandolin yesterday from Folkmusician.com. Beautiful instrument set up flawlessly by Robert. I'll post a picture soon. I added my Radius pick-up and it really sings.
