Comment by Dan Allison on July 26, 2012 at 8:47am I think the 28 part is a mistake. I have this same guitar, it's just a DM. The label does say "Mahogany Dreadnaught." I also bought mine new in 2000 but only paid about $600. I saw one on ebay recently for $400.00. It's a nice guitar but I think $700 is too much.
Comment by FloridaGull on July 26, 2012 at 8:41am I doubt it - the fuzzy pic says DM only...
The seller is, IMHO, incorrect in calling it a "28" - but, it's still a nice guitar...he was probably told that when he bought it... ;-)
Comment by Jim Yates on July 26, 2012 at 8:21am Jud, I always thought that "28" indicated solid rosewood back and sides, iveroid binding and ebony board and bridge. Has Martin started applying the numbers more loosely?
Comment by Jud Hair on July 26, 2012 at 7:22am This seller also may be a bit misleading calling his guitar a DM-28 ... I've never seen this particular model guitar termed a "28" ...

Comment by Jud Hair on July 26, 2012 at 5:55am Floridagull ... isn't that a Martin DM like you used to own?

Comment by Edward Sparks on July 18, 2012 at 9:09am I met Paul Ree Smith back in 1978 when he was in a small shop on West Street in Annapolis way before he was who he is today, he was the go to guy for reapir work back then! There was some artsy guy who used to try to build electric guitars DIY from driftwood...he would get so far into and then have a problem and bring it to Paul to "fix." It used to bug Paul, but he did it, helped the guy out and made some money in the process. Even after all these years, I miss Paul's expertise in repairing and adjusting my guitars!
Comment by Greg Brandt / Maker of Guitars on July 16, 2012 at 4:02pm Bob,
Guitar DIY'ers don't like my "aggravation fee" one bit ;-) (and I prefer to being a "maker of guitars" but "repairer of guitars" come with the territory!)
