Hey I'm located in Saint Louis, Mo. Anyone else in Arch City?

Rob, the Rothbury Music Festival started up last summer on the Double J Ranch property. The Double J is having financial problems and is in receivership I believe but their going forward with the music festival this summer after the great result from the first one. I believe there is overnight accommodations other than camping. They also have a great golf course and riding stables. The music festival is adjacent to US31 and is only about three miles from Lake Michigan.

Jerry (and rest): The line-up at Rothbury is right up my alley, and if I wasn't such an old, cheap fart with two kids in college, I might take my daughter. I got the impression from the web site that camping was the most reasonable option, but my daughter is really not into roughing it (she won't eat on the deck in the summer. 'Nuff said). Besides, she is going to Lollapalooza.

I'm going to keep following the Fox Valley Festival web site and try to remember to keep the group posted. The festival is held in Geneva, Illinois (just about a long hour west of Chicago) around Labor Day weekend.

To John and Bruce, the Rothbury music festival just came into existence last summer. Although I didn't attend I had a number of relatives go and they thoroughly enjoyed the multi-day program. Rothbury is located roughly twenty-five miles north of Muskegon on the west side of Michigan. This location has a number of camping options with White Lake, Silver Lake and Pentwater Lake within a half hour drive. I have a cottage in the area and the traffic on US31 was pretty bad for anyone who was attending just for a single day. Also, the festival is held on the grounds of a resort so there are accommodations as well as a championship golf course. Hope this helps!

Hi John,
Sorry but this is the first I have heard of this festival. I get to The Ark in Ann Arbor from time to time and Elderly in Lansing but I've not been to Rothbury.

Thanks, Bruce: this is what my daughter wants to go to. Do you know anything about it that the web site doesn't address?

Do any of you know anything about an outdoor weekend festival held in Michigan in July? It's called Roxbury or something like that. My daughter would like to go, but it's pretty expensive (even if Dylan, The Dead, Gov't Mule, String Cheese Incident, etc., are playing). Also, it seems like it's pretty much a camping-only option. She wants her brother and me to go, but he's not interested and I'm pretty cheap. I guess I'm concerned about the crowd and drug/alcohol use if my daughter went alone. She'd stay sober, but I don't know how well she'd be able to handle partiers. Is that a legitimate concern?

glad to help Ralph..I enjoyed my time with Eric, and am sure you will as well if it works out.
I am a far sw suburbs ( Romeoville) guy , so , although I took lessons at the OTS for several years, the drive eventually got the best of me .
