Big Spring Bluegrass Festival at Kendallville, IN coming up on May 24 - 27. This is the best ang biggest festival in this region; about 30 miles north of Fort Wayne. More info at: http://www.bluegrassusa.net/nibgas.htm

I will be camping there from Thursday thru Sunday. I'm not a great bluegrass fan, but I go for the campground jams and look for groups that play other types also.

Coming to Davenport, Iowa, June 29 - July 1, is the annual Mississippi Valley Blues Festival. Lots of acoustic blues in the tent venue, including Liz Mandeville and Donna Herula, Bryce Janey, Doug MacLeod, and Paul Geremia. For more, go to http://mvbs.org/fest/index.php/line-up.

Hate to see these groups fall into Internet oblivion for lack of use.  Is information like this for festivals, recitals and acoustic jams in the Midwest being posted elsewhere?

South Bend, In has our local Celtic Fest on Sunday Sept. 4th in Howard Park. $5 admission, kids 12 and under are free.  Some great Celtic bands are on the schedule.  Scottish games, herding dog demos etc.  I went last year and had a great time.  I believe the time is from 11am to 8pm.

If you're willing to drive/fly/bus to Louisville, Jim Kweskin will be headlining the National Jug Band Jubilee (Google this) on Sept. 17. There will be about 8 other jug bands, including Boo Bradley from the Madison, Wis. area. I went last year and it was a great day of free music.

   You do look a bit different in person than what your profile photo here would suggest!

   Actually, I'm pretty sure I know who you aren now.I remember talking to to you both at the market and at Stagger.

   Mabey I'll see you in September when I come through again.

Hi Brian, we have actually met a couple of times: at both Stagger Inn and the market.  Butch was my next door neighbor for a long time.
