Walden Guitars are well-made instruments, constructed from high-quality materials, and provide great value at a reasonable price point, with many features usually found only on higher-priced guitars.  Designed in the USA by Jonathan Lee, a former guitar designer with CFox Guitars, Waldens are manufactured at their own, dedicated facility in Lilan, China.

The van developed another leak or 3 - cam seals this time.  Worst case - about $550 if he has to replace the timing belt and water pump...

So, this time, you good people can tell ME what guitar you would have bought with either the $400 I spent on the van last Friday, the $550 or so I'm about to spend, or the grand total of $950...2 guitars maximum for this exercise, please... ;-)

I just won tickets to see Yes and Procul Harem this Friday night at the Mizner Park Amphitheatre in Boca Raton! Steve Howe's fingers can still fly over that fretboard... :-)

My minivan is in for service - mechanic just called - about $400 - I immediately thought "I could get a Seagull Coastline Cedar Folk or even a discontinued Walden CD552EB 12-string with electronics for that... :-(

Ladies and Gentlemen - the new Walden Baritone:

Walden Baritone Acoustic

I don't know when they'll be available, but it sure looks killer!

Here's what the Premier Guitar website has to say...

"Walden’s new baritone acoustic has a grand auditorium body with a solid Sitka spruce top, laminated rosewood back and sides, bone nut and saddle, rosewood fretboard and bridge, and tuning machines with soft, vulcanized knobs. It’s priced at $800 for the acoustic and $1,100 for the acoustic-electric, and both come with a hardshell case. www.waldenguitars.com"

What do you good people think?

Oh, they've discontinued the G570L - if you know anyone who'd like one, check out my friend Dave Word's website - www.holeinthewood.com - he's an online Walden dealer - here's a link to the discontinued G570L:

$254.95... ;-)

Thanks for commenting!  A friend of mine just bought a G570TB, and he loves it - then another friend bought a CD552EB (discontinued 12-string) after "strumming two chords"...

Others have said it - Waldens are sleepers right now...

Hi, all.

I've been lurking for a little while now and thought I'd just say "hi" and introduce myself.  I've had a G570L for 3 years now and I still love it. I bought it as an inexpensive guitar I could use for a while until I found a better guitar I really liked.  But after 3 years, two records, and a bunch of shows I still haven't started looking for another because I like the 570 so much.  It's still my only guitar and I don't see any need to "upgrade."

Anyway, nice to see Walden getting some love from other folks too.

Those knobs look like something from a 1970s era stompbox!

That's a relief!  Some nice low-profile wooden knobs would look very classy!
