Love those "French" nails Nep!!
Comment by Lisa Chupity on January 15, 2012 at 9:03pm Wow, those look funny! I've let my "enhanced" nails grow out, and I'm going to try to keep them healthy and strong "au naturel". I'll probably try a thumb pick again.
Comment by Mike Nepper on January 15, 2012 at 8:14pm Yeah, I know, they really look like crap, don't they! But hey, I gave the Alaska Piks a really good long run, from March of last year I think, and they are pretty "OK" as fingerpicks go. The down side is a little less control because they are just bulky and kinda loose, even if you tape them, and worse yet there is some unwanted pick noise. Well, it came to an end today when I looked at them and thought, what the heck, let's do some surgery! So, here it is, I cut off the back section of the Alaska Pik and super glued it to about half my nail and shaped them. They work great and they are thick enough to last a really long time with out much filing. I also worked down the back edge to my nail so it won't catch on the string when I use them to do a brush strum. Instantly I had a huge gain in control and feel. Ah, happy again...................
