Love Gryphon! It's a bit of a hike for me now but I'll make it down for a special event sometimes. Had my Spring ride this weekend but I'm glad you guys had a good turn out!

We had a very nice night, good turnout, standing room only. Great to see Stu, Tony, Josep. Lots of new faces from Gryphon. We spent a lot of time talking to Michael at Gryphon about future shows afterwards. He thinks it may work to move them into the main room, where they could hold more like 60, and be a little less cramped - and maybe more inspiring with guitars all around! I'm not sure if we'll resume my monthly hosted shows yet, they're still playing around with ideas, including more variety (Gryphon's customer base includes everything from mandolins and ukes to harps, dreads, Les Pauls, L5s, etc), and of course they get a lot of pros coming thru for lessons and so on that would be glad to have a show venue. But it seemed like they're up for experimenting, so we'll see. Any thoughts or ideas for how we could best leverage this opportunity are welcome!

In case anyone's not on my mailing list, just wanted to mention that I'll be playing with Teja at Gryphon this coming Sat, the 30th, 6:30 - ??  We've been talking about Gryphon being a place we can resume monthly shows, so this is a trial run. No food or drink there, of course, but they say it's fine to bring something in with you. The store closes at 5:30 on Sat, and they'll open back up to let people in around 6. We'll be in the "Carol McComb room" off to the side, which fits 20-30 depending on how many guitars we try to cram in.

Quick question, anybody try the new Santa Cruz parabolic strings and if so, what do you think?

Cool Tom, thanks!

Looks like we got Tom, Stu, Doug and Josep so far. Looking forward to it!

I'm in! Anyone up for a carpool? I'd be interested in the over-night-all-you-can-eat hamburger thingie.

It should work for me.
I'll sync up with Doug and see what works best from here.

Let's see who else in the Bay area can make it!

Cool Doug, I'll email some of the others who might not be checking the site.
