All,
Seems to be the day for some new stuff....here's a cut from my new CD HUMANOLOGY 101. Track is titled T.V. ROCKSTARS....lyrics below. Professionally recorded with my trio THE LIKELY SUSPECTS, I don't think it is as sharp in MP3....but it is what it is. Hope the message is clear, wrote these lyrics in 2007 thought it was just another flash in the pan fad....oops got that one wrong.
T.V. ROCKSTARS
Rock and Roll is here to stay that’s what ol’ Neil had to say little did he realize he’d live to see the day
When your rock star legend type didn’t need to play Rock Star immortality now just a phone poll away
Musicians starting out in a dusty garage room band the times you lose and start over again
You have to do those one-night stands lessons learned and its not well planned
Television Rock Stars got no saaaaand and the judges they play to the ratings man
Oh he thinks your very drab but you go girl you’re the man
You got the look so tall and tan come back next week we can play again
Television Rock Stars are here today Ma Bell locks the votes away
Got no substance they got nothin’ to say image is the axe they play
Vote for me I’m 103 I’ll sing your song you can dance along and listen to the judges go on and on and on and on
Watch me now and judge me strong you can vote by phone it won’t take long
Talent and feeling well that’s long gone smoke & mirrors gets it on camera angles & your name’s all alight in neon
Smoke and mirrors gets it on its how you look that makes the song
You’re all dressed up you got James Dean style and a picture perfect smile
Television Rock Stars are here today Ma Bell locks the votes away
Got no substance they got nothin’ to say image is the axe they play
Oh if only Jimmy, Eric and Mick just knew that this was all they would have to do
Those old boys they wouldn’t have pushed so hard rock star fame on a telephone card
Would be idols such a shame to see you go replaced by the phone poll in next week’s show
A poor song choice the judges sighed you broke our hearts and it’s a ratings high
Would be idol such a shame to see you go it aint that easy you know
Would be idol such a shame to see you go it aint that easy you know
It aint that easy you know It aint that easy you know It aint that easy you know It aint that easy you know
