Hi Wes, thanks for checking out some of my play. No, not too much Chris Isaac, most of my roots are in folk and folk-rock. The earliest influences being S&G, CSN&Y, PP&M, JT, Dylan, The Moody Blues, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne... and on and on through over three decades of wonderful music. I'm not good enough to copy styles so I just pluck away like a blind chicken...

Hey Patric, the songs that I have had time to listen to so far on your page, i've enjoyed, I'm still struggling to achieve that level of sound quality. Great lyrics and melodies. Do I detect some Chris Isaak influence?

Thank you Diane, I didn't realize the format. The stuff on my page is the past and I'm about to go into my studio and start working on new songs. I'll try and get those up when I feel the foundations are worthy enough. :)

Exactly right, Diane! Max set up this group so that we could all get feedback on stuff that we're still working on, leaving the Songwriters group for showcasing. And yes, the best format seems to be setting up one discussion per song. Also helps folks if you post the lyrics along with it.

Hi Patrick. I believe the preferred method for direct feedback within this group is to post a file of your song. You can start a thread with a link, and people can respond that way.

Glad to find this group and hoping to share and learn from it. I posted a bunch of original songs on my page that are either my own originals or friends of mine that I recorded in my little ADAT studio. Some of them came out pretty well so there should be something to discover for almost everyone. Love to hear your perspectives on any of the tunes that are there. PS: Not talking about the videos, which at the moment are more "down memory lane"... except for three that were discoverd here at AGC.

How do you feel about a website that has as an agenda belittling new (or old) musicians?? Zinego is a new band in Ireland who have produced their second CD. I happen to enjoy their music. However, even if I didn't, I certainly would never badmouth any musician! Most of us who play guitar know well how difficult, time consuming and costly it is to get a start in music. To have someone on the WWW spew out vitriol such as that found at is horrifying to me. If any of you care to join me in attempting to condemn this wrongful act, please do so by emailing them at
Thanks for your help.

Please have a listen to my newest tune, "Cold Lips of Paper" on my page. This one will really work... or it really won't. Tell me which ... I can take it ...I think.

Please have a listen to my song, Roman Rider. It's a western! about my Great Grandfather, a wild-west show Roman Rider, and his ill-fated love for my Great Grandmother. I partial capoed (all but #6) at the 5th fret and drove the base line with my thumb. Please let me know what you think.
