Congratulations Lon,

It's inspirational and encouraging to see someone persevere with faith in their own talent and willingness to share.  Hopefully one day I'll join you in the Winner's Circle.

:-) When you get my age Sandy you find yourself saying, "What have I got to lose?" a lot. I have large friend and fan bases on FaceBook, Reverbnation, MySpace, etc. so I made shameless appeals to listen to the songs in the competition and vote for mine if they thought it was the best. That didn't take 'balls' but it did take a lot of mouse clicks and separate 'thank you' notes. Hope you enjoyed Bernice. :-)

Congratulations, Lon!  You have more balls than me.

Okay fellow So. California Players... I entered a songwriting contest with my song "Bernice" and I'm not too proud to ask for you to go to the link and vote for me. http://openmicus.competitionalley.com I'm in 5th place at the moment so just scroll down till you see "Lon Milo DuQuette" . You can listen to "Bernice" and even watch a video of it... but please, if you like it, cast your vote for me. Thanks :-)

Walter, I am new to both as well.  Relatively so anyways.  I know I need help to play better, finding the help is a bit difficult as I am unemployed and I don't drive.  It has become an obsession though, wanting to be able to play and play well.
