Hey Stevie,

Just wanted to congratulate you for being on top of the tech side of music production. I'm referring to your upcoming StageIT event. What a great idea for fans and a wonderful new tool for artists to connect with fans. For just a few bucks, anyone with a decent Internet connection and watch your concert from the comfort of their own living room (or whatever). Way to shake it, Stevie!

Thanks for the "Heads-up" about Margo. I'll check and see if she has the time and patience to work with me,

In fact, I met Margo LeDuc, at CCMC in 2008. She's located in Fremont, and is a respected and talented singer and coach. You can reach her at:

Does anybody know a versatile vocal coach in the San Jose or Peninsula area who might be able to help me find my voice? I do Celtic Folk music, some gospel stuff, and occasionally more mainstream stuff like Gordon Lightfoot or Dylan or "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" - flavored stuff. No Autotune, No Hip Hop, no American Idol. No offense intended, just not interested in the latter kind of stuff. Want to develop what I have, not necessarily imitate anyone else.

Open to all suggestions, insults, etc. :)

Hi Mokai,

A few months ago I needed some help with a tune I was trying to learn, and I did a Skype lesson with Stevie. It was great! And neither of us had to drive anywhere.

oops, I'm not a student of 'little' Stevie's, not sure how I just joined the group, but anyway, I was really excited to see this group as I am a big fan of SC. I just caught 2 performances of the full band concerts for Stevie's new CD, 'Ten In One'. Great songs, awesome musicians, beautiful CD. I got so excited, I posted a review of the CD project and shows here.

Hey, has anyone tried the lessons with Stevie via Skype?

Welcome. We think Stevie's a blast and you end up feeling that way too.

I'm joining this group early since I won't officially be a student of Stevie Coyle's unitl August 9th, when I take class from him at the American River Music camp. I just happened to stumble across this group and thought I must be meant to join ASAP! I love these internet forums. What a great way to connect. I'm am apologizing to my children for ragging on them for spending time on Facebook, etc. while they were young teens.

+1 on Stevie. Musician, teacher, all-around good guy. Yup.

I've known Stevie for many years now and after not picking up a guitar for decades took some lessons. I haven't made much progress but every lesson he had a new idea for me to try and I enjoyed every minute of every lesson. Not only is he incredibly quick with the guitar, he is incredibly quick with the wit and has the patience of Job with essentially beginners like me. I asked him how he maintains his enthusiasm working with beginners. He said it's because every struggle I encounter, he can remember the exact moment he was going through the same struggle. Now that is something! Stevie is a great friend.
