Welcome to the Acoustic Guitar Community.

Hey people...I just bought my first Taylor!  I've been making my living playing music for a long time (over 20 years) and I've always used budget guitars (six kids and all the bills!). I played a beauty and had to get it, thanx to income tax refund.  210EG out of the box. I'm pleased...any long term experiences?

Enjoy your new Taylor!
You got a good one. Mine had a great sound to it. I've had it about 3 years now and do not have any gripes. I'll bet you will really like it.

Congratulations, Michael!  I've had my 210e for about two years and love it.  I wish they'd had the gloss finish available when I got mine, but either way it's a beautiful looking and sounding instrument.  I've only been playing guitar for about four years and am strictly an amateur, but as far as I can tell the 210e holds its own against the higher end Taylors, although some of my friends with the more expensive ones might not agree!

Enjoy it!

Invest in a humidification system.  I use a 35mm film can, with holes poked in it and a chunk of sponge to hold the water.  Radio Shack has cheap digital humidistats.  I keep it in the case too.  Enjoy, I've got a 6 and a 12 string Taylor and love them both.
I had a 214ce for a while, and it's a great guitar.  I picked it out of about 10 candidates in the same general price range after listening to all of them blind - it stood out clearly as the best sounding of the bunch.  Last year I bought a custom Taylor and gave the 214 to my daughter, and she loves it too.  Congratulations on a great choice!

Thanx for the input.  It's nice to hear so many of you are happy with this one.  I'll let you know how it ages!

I bought my first guitar 3 years ago.  A Taylor 110.  I love it.  I had never even played a guitar before I bought it.  It continues to sound better the older it gets.  the price was more than I was looking to spend and more than I was advised as well, but I feel like it was worth it.  If you get a chance to go to the factory I highly recommend it.  It'll make you appreciate your guitar so much more.
Thanx Shannon for your input. It was a little more than I wanted to spend too, but the sound amplified is unbelievable!  It's not my best sounding unplugged, but that's not how I use it.
Absolutely hands down the best sounding guitars in their price range and above! My son asked me to help him pick a guitar last year and we landed on the 214. He loves it and I can't put it down whenever I go over there.
I bought my 815 Taylor in 1984 serial #1645. It has been a rock! I have had to adjust the neck about five years after I bought and about ten years ago I had to replace the pick guard, it curled up.Besides that it has performed day in and day out. I had the money to buy anything I wanted to at the time and played Gibson J-200, several Martin's and Guilds. I kept coming back to that Taylor...best decision I ever made.
Congratulations!! I just ordered my first Taylor! I can't wait for Monday when it gets delivered. I'm too old to get this excited about a purchase, but I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!!  How are you liking your 210EG???
Sounds like you've earned it.  Life's short.  Eat desert first.
