Now that I own three Alvarez jumbos (an embarrassment of riches!), I'm considering converting one -- a mid-90's Model 5072 -- into a baritone. I figure that by adjusting the neck, swapping in a nut to handle the slightly thicker baritone strings, and tuning accordingly (down a 3rd or 4th) it could work.
I love the idea of an acoustic baritone but money is very tight right now and this might be a good interim step. Thoughts?
