Learn as much as you can on how a guitar should be adjusted for the style you want to play. I started with a three dollar repaired Washburn from E-Bay still have it and it works great for one that has never been set up. I reserve it for the day I de…
As beginners we tend to strain our fingers and hands trying to hold the string down to get a clear sound. Check to see how much daylight is under the strings as they run down the neck. Too little and they buzz, too much and they are hard to press, e…
Wow I was surprised to see so many since most places want you to come out and spend money so they can stay in business. The bad thing about you tube is having to weed through so much junk to find the good stuff.
A lot of people play an A with one finger. You will also find that same technique used in barre chords. SInce this is your first guitar you may want to check the width of the neck at the nut as those of us with "fatties" need a little more room for…
Huge John Prine fan myself. As for getting over "sing strumming" it is very much like patting your head and rubbing your belly - especially if the strum pattern is complicated. The one thing you can't do is over analyze it... just let your right han…
As a fan of John Prine's work, mostly his early works, I was pleased to see the lesson on Paradise Valley in the last issue of Acoustic Guitar. Unfortunatly I have scattered my collection of CD's in various locations including both vehicles, compute…

Hi -DD wanted me to explain because I will be buying it for her: A "box guitar" is just a southern expression for a acoustic guitar. I do not want to buy one for more than a $100.00. No scratches or damage of any sort. Thanks for the info have a great CHRISTmas GOD BLESS
Hi, Clark!
Thank you for your comment. That's very kind from you. You know, I've been playing guitar since 1963 but, in the last 15 years, instrument making brought a new dimension to my music and even to the way I see "the whole picture". So, thank you for your comment, be welcome to my page, enjoy the music and the photos of some intruments I put there, but, if that gives you any ideas... beware, instrument making is highly addictive!
Haven't posted in some time...have been overwhelmed with work, the holiday is in a few weeks, and have been stressed out in general...not even taking any time to play with the guitar, so it sits in a corner of my shop, patiently waiting for me....and it never complains...

Thanks clark. Still wish I could figure this out better. Just keep getting unsoliicited "friends" from good lookin gals and wondered why? Haw Chris
Alas, I tried it and did not experience that problem. I couldn't monitor during recording and when I tried to overdub. I know there is a lerning curve, so maybe, I'm doing something wrong. Oh well.

Thanks for the heads up. That really is sad news. The product is super, and I admired what I saw of Chris's character and integrity. Hoping you don't mind, I'll send a copy of this thread to Edward Sparks. He's the one who put me on to the Lock-it strap in the first place.
