"I am the worst enemy of my S12 Cedar (1990) !!! I've had her a long time and it shows that my stylized rhythm playing is robust and (for my guitar) harsh at times.
I think that the Seymour Duncan Woody sound hole pickup has something to do…"
"I used to use a music stand for solo bar performances, but no longer. Image is important as a performer, and being seen with a music stand only says to people that you are not ready
With sets I used to write them all out and then normally never…"
"If you look at my avatar you'll see my Grand parlor. I've had her 10 year next month and she's been through the wringer so probably the worst thing that has ever happened to her is me!
In my defense she is my #1 girl."
"The 'Gull in my avatar incurred a tiny-but-glaring ding in the most visible part of the lower bout. To add insult to injury, it then got dragged to a guitar shop and sold on consignment to a rank beginner who is also a poor photographer."
"Yep ... Me too.
I had a crappy little Harmony guitar that I had "rescued" from being thrown out by someone else. Out of the goodness of my heart, I gave it a ome and I kept it with my other guitars ... treated it just like one…"
"This story brings to mind, a couple of practices I've stopped doing. First, I no longer keep a capo clipped to my guitar's headstock when not in use, and second I no longer keep a tuner clipped to the headstock of my guitar's…"
"To my Seagull fortunately nothing so far!
Worst story I have is a 200$ Fender acoustic in a small floor stand (looks just like the stand Jud has at the forum start)
decided to fall over and one of its tuners dinged the fretboard around the…"
"I had 1-4 re-fretted on the Artist Mosaic. Was about $40 is all. Not too bad. If I do it again, I'm going to spring for the extra to get stainless steel fret wire. Supposed to last a LOT longer for just a little more…"
I've heard numeruous people say the same thing about the "pearloid" tuner knob buttons. I bought my Artist Mosaic used, but the previous owner had given up on the plastic buttons and had replaced the tuners with a set of solid metal.
