Anthony's right. There is some software that can sometimes remove or isolate vocals, but that's easier technology because voice has a relatively narrow frequency range and usually is panned to dead center in the stereo mix.

I use an Edirol R-09 to record bands, rehearsals, etc. It's surprisingly high quality. I had that Zoom, but the record button jammed, so my impression is that it's not well made.
