Definitely Jerry Douglas he does some amazing things. He grew up around Youngstown and some of my bandmates in Woodnote saw him play with a bluegrass band when he was in his teens!
Ooooo I smell a new member...LOL Hi there, I'm 57 been playing since I was 12. When the Beatles hit Ed Sullivan I dropped my trumpet and picked up the guitar. (well I didn't really ditch the trumpet. I still play in a concert band but my real love...
Paul,
Thanks for your response. I am following a similar process in arranging tunes. It's good to know someone else is using a similar procedure.

David,
As I said, I did spend quite a few years trying to learn to play the way other people did and I'm sure that background was a big help, but as we have both noted it's a lot of work and not as much fun as doing your own thing.
Generally, I ...
I guess I'm just another old fart here. Picked up the guitar in 1966 and still pick it up. Not as much as I would like to but life is still at a fast pace for me. But the good think is my 14 year old daughter has been playing the guitar since she ...
Thanks for writing David. Make sure to introduce yourself. We'd love to meet you.
It'll be great to get back to That Book Store: it's been too long.

David, I just noticed you are from Jonesboro AR. My children were born in either Fort Smith or Little Rock. Kate's mother, Shelley, graduated from UA-Fayettville back in May 2007. Her husband just finished up his graduate work at UA-Fay. Lived in Little Rock for 7 years and Fort Smith for 1.

David, thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right...little ones are powerful motivators! This was written for my baby girl's baby girl.
Hi David, I took a look at the playing for change website , very interesting concept and the songs around the world. I would like to find out a bit more about it ,,are you involved with the program ?
Howdy, friend. I don't believe we've met. I've only been in Jonesboro about five years and haven't had the pleasure of meeting many other musicians yet. I like to play classical, blues, folk, country and classic rock. Please do let me know of any noteworthy events in the area, and I'll try to make it to some. Cheers!
Hi David,
Thanks for the comments on my profile. Actually I'm not a Minnesotan, but got the sweatshirt back when my son played on the Twins in Little League. :-)
All the best,
Bill
