"Now that my Tone Deaf steel fingerstyle picks have arrived, they seem perfect for resonator! I am playing the Boxcar a lot more. The Tone Deafs did not work well on thumb so I'm using a shaved Dunlop thumb pick."

I made my annual trek to the National Thumbpicking Championship on May 13 & 14, 2011 at the Ozark Folk Center’s Tribute to Merle Travis Festival in Mountain View, AR.  The approximately 2300 resident town of Mountain View sits atop an Ozark mountain and hosts musicians from all over the area who…

I would encourage folks to subscribe to the Jazz Guitar Gazette. It is quite useful. Enjoy (and hope Dirk doesn't mind this post).

Hey David,

I see you have a Les Paul Studio...I have an old relic of a Les Paul...a 1976 Signature...a real "dawg" in the Les Paul world, but I like it!  Semi hollow gold top with low Z pickups and a built in phase switch...Edward

Thanks for writing David. Make sure to introduce yourself. We'd love to meet you.

It'll be great to get back to That Book Store: it's been too long.

And please bring friends. It's always fun to play for folks who get it.

David, I just noticed you are from Jonesboro AR. My children were born in either Fort Smith or Little Rock. Kate's mother, Shelley, graduated from UA-Fayettville back in May 2007. Her husband just finished up his graduate work at UA-Fay. Lived in Little Rock for 7 years and Fort Smith for 1.
