I know what you mean..we'll never be guitar stars. I'd like to be a good acoustic player..teach beginning students maybe or at least grandchildren. Someone recently told me the first year is the hardest. Now that I've passed that mark I agree. My fingers are almost suddenly not sore much anymore and the calluses are evening out rather than having depressed string marks on them. I'm now able to play regular music with a little work, and preferably with chord suggestions written above. I do practice an hour a day +- and that has payed off.
