Ed Mehollin commented on John Wilson's group 12-String GuitarYeah, I have about 94-95% loss in both ears. Without the HAs, I pretty well deaf. Happily, I am employed with a good insurance plan, allowing me to get these high-tech hearing aids and the FM system I use. It's still not perfect, as you cannot recover fully from hearing loss, nature has not provided enough backup. I don't like to dwell on it, and just go about playing as I can. I have another friend in the same kind of shape, and she's actually touring and recording - what an inspiration she's been, too. I guess my message to young folks is to hold your senses dear, protect them, and keep them from the hazards of our trade as best you can. With a good sound man, you really don't need push the volume to 10.
Thanks for the info.Interesting story about the Lowden.
The Elixir nanowebs are slightly brighter sounding than the polywebs.
I am a bit of a string nerd, lol.Have you tried the Elixir phosphor bronze? I think these sound best on spruce topped guitars, whereas on cedar top the nanowebs are best.

Hi Ed.Thanks for your message and glad you like the videos.Yes,Lowdens are great guitars.
I see you have some Taylors, great guitars and always very easy to play, which as you know is so important. What brand and gauge os strings do you use?
