Acoustic Fusion CD "Touching Souls" & Gil's Solo CD "Where Is Your Soul?"
Acoustic Fusion is a musical partnership between BMI songwriter and award winning lyricist Howard C. Holbert and Gil Garcia. In this partnership Howard does the writing of the lyrics for a song idea then Gil composes the music for the lyrics sometimes adding or refining them along the way. Gil then performs each song solo acoustic. The exception here is Bailout Blues which is words & music by Gil

Your years of playing with a pick serves you well when you started playing without one. Just think of your fingers as picks. The sound is less sharp then with a pick, but the rounded sound of the fingernail and a little flesh on the string is...

Recorded this on 5/14/07 but composed it many years ago. I first recall playing this around the mid 1980's. I flatpicked it all these years then decided to try fingerpicking it. This video documents my first time using a fingerpicked arrangement.

It's Official - Gil tops the charts at #1 in 3 categories
Somojo Radio is internet radio designed for Independent and Unsigned Artists.
I submitted two songs as a solo artist and one song as Acoustic Fusion (partnership with Howard C. Holbert who writes the lyrics). To my great surprise my songs did very well in 3 categories but most importantly was #1 in the "Offical Somojo Chart" which is all songs in all categories! Here is the official weekly chart published by Somojo (in edited form)

On a couple of posts you said you couldn't download mp3s. Depending on what operating system you have (Windows 98, XP, Vista, or Mac whatever), you might be able to use QuickTime or RealPlayer. These are free and can be downloaded easily. Google them to learn more. I'm no expert on how to set these up, but in case you need assistance probably any nearby teenager can do it!!. I hope that helps.

Hey Gil Ive looked at your videos and I like your stuff. I'm polishing up Cinnamon Girl myself. No easy task as I'm still a beginner. I like Neil Young, the Beatles and CCR. But will play anything I can. If your ever at a gig or open mic in the SJ area let me know. Id like to see ya play and maybe bring a friend or two from my beginners group in Morgan Hill.

I think I just might do that. I also wanted to tell you that I like the two songs you did. When I go to the coffee house every Thursday night to play I often play Blowin in the Wind. I had forgotten about the Buffalo Springfield song and will have to learn that one. Hopefully before too much longer I will have some stuff on YouTube. Also, if you can think of anything that would make my songs better please don't hesitate to suggest it. Thanks again.
