Acoustic Fusion CD "Touching Souls" & Gil's Solo CD "Where Is Your Soul?"

Acoustic Fusion is a musical partnership between BMI songwriter and award winning lyricist Howard C. Holbert and Gil Garcia. In this partnership Howard does the writing of the lyrics for a song idea then Gil composes the music for the lyrics sometimes adding or refining them along the way. Gil then performs each song solo acoustic. The exception here is Bailout Blues which is words & music by Gil

Yes indeed. Mighty nice version of a great song. The step-down tuning works well on this song.

R.I.P. Ben Keith - Neil Young issues a statement

***UPDATE: From official Neil Young website N Y Times:

BEN KEITH

On the full moon, the Thunder moon, the world lost one of the greatest
musicians of all time. Ben was 73 years old the night he died on Broken
Arrow Ranch in California, his happy home for the last years of his
life. Ben played with Patsy Cline, Faron Young, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Ian
Tyson and many other music greats. A great American, the quiet giant, he
moved gently through the world, with kindness and grace.… Continue

Will Neil Young cover my song DRILL BABY DRILL? We'll soon find out

I have asked Neil Young to cover my new song Drill Baby Drill for a couple of reasons. First of all it would be very cool to have Neil Young cover a song of mine but also because the song is donated to the charity Global Green USA who are currently spearheading efforts in the Gulf Coast to build a strong Green economy there.
This is a cause I think Neil would approve of and his covering of my song certainly could help that highly rated 4 star charity. They already have done some great work i… Continue

Want to help with Gulf Coast Relief and Cleanup Efforts? Here's a way

I have written two songs for the Gulf Coast Oil Spill catastrophe and decided to make the songs really mean something. I partnered with Global Green USA and put together a collection of 6 songs with their approval.
100% of the sales proceeds will go to Global Green USA.

Who is Global Green USA?

CNN has contacted me regarding my songs for the Gulf Oil Spill

I got a surprise media enquiry from reporter Derrick Ho of CNN.
He had heard my song Drill Baby Drill about the Gulf Coast oil spill and wanted to know if I had more songs. Apparently he is working on a story for next Tuesday.

He asked me several very detailed questions and I wrote him detailed responses.
Have not heard back yet but having dealt with reporters before I know they always wait until last minute.
The fact that my Drill Baby Drill song showed up on CNN's radar mu… Continue

Thank you Gil. I can understand that you don't have much time for being on line with young children. I have added some of my songs to my page and if you get time, I would appreciate any comments. Particularly the song "I Love You". It started to be about my son and then I realized that much of what I was seeing was a reflection of my father and me growing up, so it came full circle. I loved your pictures with "My Little Girl". I worked in NICU with premature babies for several years.

Hi Gil. Hey resounding thanks for introducing me around on youtube!! I've met some really nice folks.
I use Audacity for post-production on my recordings but I've no idea how to hook into my digital camera. Great app tho' - nearly simple enough for me to use.

Gil,
On a couple of posts you said you couldn't download mp3s. Depending on what operating system you have (Windows 98, XP, Vista, or Mac whatever), you might be able to use QuickTime or RealPlayer. These are free and can be downloaded easily. Google them to learn more. I'm no expert on how to set these up, but in case you need assistance probably any nearby teenager can do it!!. I hope that helps.

I'm always in San Jose and sometimes feel like I live in SJ too.
Hey Gil Ive looked at your videos and I like your stuff. I'm polishing up Cinnamon Girl myself. No easy task as I'm still a beginner. I like Neil Young, the Beatles and CCR. But will play anything I can. If your ever at a gig or open mic in the SJ area let me know. Id like to see ya play and maybe bring a friend or two from my beginners group in Morgan Hill.
